2 Months

Our little Kalen is now two months old. He is getting more fun everyday. He is on the three hour schedule where he eats, plays, then sleeps. His "play time" is full of smiles and coos. I love it!

We are still struggling with eating. I finally saw a lactation specialist because what I produce is hardly ever enough for him. She weighed Kalen before and after I fed him and said he's getting enough. He could either a. just want to stuff himself silly b. have gas bubbles that he wants to solve by eating more or c. being too smart and knowing that if he fusses he'll get to eat more, even though he doesn't need it. Magically after that appointment  Kalen would eat and he would be content.

Two days later he had his 2 month check up, and had lost an ounce since then. This was very concerning to the pediatrician, so we have to go in for a weight check in two weeks. This is frustrating for me. I want to exclusively breastfeed but it seems at every corner there is a problem that is preventing me from doing so.

I am going to start taking the herbal supplement fenugreek to help boost my milk supply. Hopefully this works so I don't have to supplement with formula.

He is 22 inches, and weighs 9lbs 13oz which is a little on the small size but Alex has always been small so I figure that's how I make them!
