I love the fourth of July. It is so wonderful that we have a day to remember our Founding Fathers, the Constitution, and all the men and women who have helped keep our country free.
We had a great day. We started out with a parade. Alex loved it, except for the beginning, when the fire trucks blew their sirens.
After the parade we went to my sister's and had a bbq, played soccer, drew a flag with sidewalk chalk, and lit some fireworks. Unfortanetly, my camera ran out of batteries, so I didn't get any pictures.
We then came back to our apartment, and lit more fireworks. We had a great day!
Oh! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved home and the war's desolation!Blest with victory and peace, may the heav'n rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation.
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just
,And this be our motto: "In God is our trust.
"And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!
