Our Dream

Last night Stephen and I went out to watch the meteor shower for a little date. We only saw one which was lame, but the one we did see looked awesome. While we were looking we started talking about the future and where we see us in a few years, what and where stuff. If we had it our way, this is how we would have it. We want to have a nice plot of land, not in suburbia. I love doing things outdoors, but I don't love traveling far to do it. I would love to have a massive yard (we're taking acres) so we could do all the things we love. There would be space for a good sized garden, but we would also love to have a place for a bonfire, and a hiking and biking trail. It would be cool to have fourwheelers to go around on our land and surrounding land. We would also have plenty of space for pets (every since we got Scamps I am animal obsessed, I want lots of them!) and whatever kids come along. I want to live somewhere warm, the cold and I do not go well together.

Who knows if this'll happen, but in a perfect world. . .

What's interesting is I mentioned something similar to Kira a few months back. Regarding lots of space to do things outdoors, etc. Texas may work for you, it is warm and there is LOTS of land available. One of my coworkers (including his parents and siblings) owns over 500 acres of land! Like a small European country!

Yes! You definitely need to move to Texas! Lots of land, fairly cheap, warm, and with some drip lines you could have the best garden ever. And THE NICEST people you will ever meet. Just make sure you build a guest wing on your ranch so we can come visit lots and lots!

And we would LOVE to have you guys live close by! Just think of all the Russian practice (and food!) we can have together! (Although I know we didn't do so well during the reunion... That's my fault, I think...)

I definitely do not want to own lots of land or anything like that... but maybe we can visit your big ranch every once in a while, so that Dave can get his dose of outdoors :)

Your family is right, you would have to live somewhere in the South to get all that you want and Texas has no state income tax :-) We would love you to be near the east coast though. Tennessee is also a no state income tax state! Virginia is EXPENSIVE, especially where I am. For the price of my townhouse with its little yard, you can buy a huge house and a big yard in Texas or Tennessee. You should check out Central Tennessee, it is real nice there. I guess states that start with a "T" are good choices! Go orange!

Do it! Texas, Texas! Funny you're animal obsessed. We'll see how you feel when kids come too ;) We need more land too.
