Stephen and I had FHE on Monday, and read in the Ensign, a story about how one of the General Authorities, when he was a mission president in France, was trying to get back to his apartment with his family after visiting the missionaries in the field. Their car stalled or something and they were stuck in a town a few hours from their destination. They eventually found a motell to stay at. But, one of the employees let him use his van to get home. We started talking about service, and how we need to do more. Well, the next day we were given that opportunity. There is a family, who are not members, but live in our complex, whose father and husband just died. They had moved to Utah a week earlier from Washington. As a result, they didn't know anybody. We went to their apartment with the missionaries and offered comfort and whatever help we could provide. I was grateful to do this service.
On Thursday we talked to them again and said that they were leaving the next day, on Friday, to return to Washington. They said they had a lot of perishable food they can't take with them, that they need to get rid of. So now we have the opportunity to give someone food who needs it. Yeah! I am so grateful that I met these people, and that I can continue to help this around me.
