Thankfully, after we got to Minnesota things were calm, no more snow storms or tickets!
On Saturday we slept most of the day, but we went to see my dad at the hospital. We called it an early evening at 9:00.
On Sunday we slept in and got a full 12 hours of sleep. We sure were tired! We went to my home ward where Stephen got the once over by the ward. They told him that they really like me, so he better take good care of me. It was funny got me, and lucky Stephen didn't think much of it. The rest of the day we hung out at home with my mom and my brother.
On Monday we did a lot of running around. We applied for a marriage license, looked at wedding decorations, and got some wedding invitations out in the mail. That afternoon we went to Minnehaha Falls. There we walked to the Mississippi River. We wished that the trees looked a little prettier though. The were all dead and brown.
On Tuesday we went to the Mall of America. We walked the whole first floor and parts of the second, third, and fourth floor. Stephen didn't seem too impressed with it until we got the amusement park inside. He couldn't believe that in a mall there were rollercoasters, a log chute, and lots of other rides. We rode one of the rollercoasters. It is the newest one, and my first time riding it, it was a lot of fun. I brought with me $5. I said that if I found something for $5 I would buy it. Unfornately the cheapest thing we found was $6.
On Wednesday we went to the Minnesota Temple where we would be sealed. Jeff came with us. It was fun to go through a session with him. We went to the state capital afterwards. Unforantely the capital was empty, they senate won't be in session until February. I had forgotten how beautiful the capital was. In the capital there are paintings of every governor. We made sure to find Jesse Ventura, and Stephen got a picture with it. We also drove by the St. Paul Cathedral. That night my dad got home from the hospital! He is doing better, but he still has blood clots in his lungs. He is on medication to thin out his blood and to keep the clots from breaking up and causing more problems. He is on the weak side but so glad to be home. For a homecoming celebration Stephen made Shepherd's Pie, and it was delicious! That night my mom, Jeff, Stephen and I played rummy and Settlers of Catan. Stephen kicked out butts at rummy but I won at Settlers of Catan.
Thursday was Thanksgiving. My mom made Turkey, mashed potatoes, peas, rolls, and cranberry sauce. We also had apple, banana creme and pumpkin pie with ice cream. We chilled that day. We played Mario Kart and more games.
On Friday we left at 3:00. We did not want to go. It was so nice to be with my family and to get away from reality for a little bit. We were not excited to go.
To make matters worse, at one in the morning Miles City, Montana we hit a deer! We had to get the car towed and we had to sleep in a motel that night. The next morning we got the car checked and it was totalled. The deer smushed all the parts together so the car was irrepairable. One of the girls we drove with called her brother to pick us up. He was to be in Miles City around 7:00 that night. So we had lunch, and walked around Walmart. We called at 5:00 to see where he was. Evidently he had fallen back asleep and so he hadn't even left yet! We were not happy. We got some cards and bumbed around the motel lounge we stayed at. He got there at 12:30 am. We got back to Rexburg at 8:00am on Sunday. I was dead that whole day, and even today I am trying to get back into the swing of things. It's hard.
I am so glad that we were able to go to Minnesota though, it was so much fun!
